Acute shortage of textbooks in Bhaktapur
Bhaktapur: Students in Bhaktapur are wandering for want of obtaining textbooks after acute shortage of books due to sheer ignorance on part of the Janak Education Materials Centre (JEMC) Limited.
They are on a rush almost every day to find textbooks published by JEMC, however the centre entrusted with the sole responsibility of publishing and distributing prescribed textbooks is located in their district Bhaktapur, complained students.
According to District Education Office Shanker Kumar Gautam, students based in Bhaktapur are compelled to move here and there in search for textbooks mainly that of Nepali, Social Science and Science.
There is still a high number of students searching JEMC-published textbooks and even the book stalls were not found having these books even during the monitoring, he added.
