Anurag makes Bhairahawa proud, secures 94 pc in SLC
Bhairahawa: Bhairahawa-based Montessori Memorial English Boarding High School has claimed that its student Anurag Pande has secured 94.13 per cent marks in SLC, making him the top scorer among boys this year in the district.
According to principal of the school, Bharatendra Pal, Anurag’s total marks stand at 753 out of 800. His father Bhubaneshwar Pande, working at the Agriculture Development Bank, in Lumbini branch, said Anurag was a very diligent from childhood.
He also claimed that he had not given any tuition to his son so far and expressed wish to support his son in studying the subject of his choice—Science.
Anurag said he had worked hard for the exams and expressed wish to study Science and later do his MBBS.
According to the district education office, 64 per cent students have passed the examination this year.
Meanwhile, in the Far Western region, Anjali Bijaya Adhikari, a student at Dhangadhi-based Aishwarya Vidhya Niketan Higher Secondary School, has staked her claim as the top scorer among girls from the region with 91.25 per cent marks.
Meanwhile, Sandhikarkha-based Yuba Barsha Janata Rabichitra Secondary School in Arghakhanchi has scored cent per cent result with one distinction and 32 first division among 33 SLC students.
With the improvement in the results of government schools in Myagdi, the pass percentage has increased from 63 per cent last year to 79.59 per cent this year.
Besides Myagdi, Kaski and Makawanpur have also improved their results this year. In Makawanpur, 66.55 per cent students have passed the SLC this year, setting a new record in the last five years. Last year, only 63.44 per cent students had passed the examination.
In Kaski too, the result has improved this year. This year 70.1 per cent students have passed the SLC whereas the pass percentage was 68.4 last year.
However, the pass percentage in the districts including Sunsari, Parsa, Sankhuwasabha and Solukhumbu has decreased drastically.
According to a District Education Office employee in Sunsari, only 31 per cent students, in comparison to 72.2 per cent last year, have passed.
In Sankhuwasabha, the pass percentage this year has decreased to 34.97 from 75 per cent last year.
Likewise, the pass percetage in Solukhumbu has also decreased to 40 per cent from 81 per cent last year.
