ASMAN's career counseling
Association of St. Mary’s Alumnae Nepal (ASMAN) organized a career counseling workshop for the graduates of 10th and 12th grades on Saturday, February 18, at St. Mary’s High School, Jawalakhel..
Moon Pradhan, event coordinator, said that the young graduates are on the verge of choosing their subjects for further studies according to their career choice.
So in order to make them acquainted with various occupational fields and also to give them directions about subjects to pursue in order to get into the job, they invited various professionals who would make the students aware of their work.
The workshop included counseling from Sangita Khadka (UNDP), Dr. Bharat Rawat (NORVIC), Sidhhant Pandey (ACE Development Bank), Laxman Gautam (Travel), Malvika Subba (Co- Founder and Creative Director, House of Alternative Apparel Pvt. Ltd), Shivani Singh Tharu (Media), Ranjit Acharya (Prisma Advertising), Anju Malla (Independent Architect and Interior Designer), and Navraj Pradhan (ICIMOD).
ASMAN is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that brings together former students of St. Mary’s High School.
“We were formally established in 1990 and we focus on three major issues: Women’s Development - career training for the pass outs, Education- scholarships for under privileged girls and workshops, and lastly, health - dental and heart related awareness programs as well as camps. Our fund is raised through concerts, movie premieres and parties,” informed Pradhan.
