Best community school teachers awarded, Nepal
Deepak Shrestha, a teacher at Beni Community Higher Secondary School, has won this year’s PP Prasain National Best Teacher Award. President Ram Baran Yadav conferred the award carrying a purse of Rs 50,000 to Shrestha at a function Shital Niwas on Sunday.
Similarly, this year’s PP Prasain Regional Best Teacher Award was won by Krishna Bahadur Khatri of Setidevi Lower Secondary School from the Central Region, Ramhari Risal of Rajhena Higher Secondary School from the Mid-Western Region and Laxmi Panti Aryal of Mahendra Higher Secondary School from the Western Region . The regional award carries a purse of Rs 25,000 and educational materials worth Rs 10,000.
Established by PP Prasain Foundation, the awards are given to recognise contribution of dedicated community school teachers and to motivate them.The foundation was established in 2011, to fulfil the dream of tourism entrepreneur Prasain, who was committed to tourism development and education in rural parts of the country.
