British College launches State-of-the-Art VR Lab
The British College (TBC) announces the launch of a cutting-edge Virtual Reality (VR) Lab. This Represents a groundbreaking advancement in education and will offer students a dynamic and immersive learning environment that enhances exploration and deepens understanding.
The grand opening took place on the 28th June ‘23 and marked a significant milestone in the College's commitment to providing innovative education. The CEO Rajen Kandel delivered an inspiring keynote address and attendees were treated to captivating interactive demonstrations, providing them with an unforgettable firsthand experience of the immersive technology.
When asked about the Lab, Rajen Kandel said , "I take immense pride in unveiling our state-of-the-art VR Lab .Through the adoption of VR, we exemplify our unwavering commitment to ensuring that our students are equipped with the essential skills and knowledge required to thrive in the digital era and gain a competitive edge in their future careers."
Amongst other distinguished guests in attendance was Sanjib Subba, the President of the Fintech Association of Nepal. Speaking at the ceremony he said, “It's very exciting to see The British College introducing VR into their curriculum. To see them embrace the newest technology so proactively is not only a big step for the College but also for the industry, and I think it will be a great opportunity for students to get firsthand skills and knowledge that will give them an advantage in both the Nepal development market but the global talent pool”.
The VR Lab boasts cutting-edge equipment and software, including industry-standard VR headsets, controllers, sensors, and a diverse range of immersive educational applications. This means that students will have access to a wide array of simulations, virtual environments, and augmented content tailored to their specific fields of study.
Deputy Principal at The British College, Dr. Patrick McCrudden also revealed that, “As part of the British College's dedication to showcasing the endless possibilities of VR, prospective students considering to visit TBC are also invited to experience this groundbreaking technology firsthand during their campus tours”.
