British Council to hold edu fair
In a bid to promote British education and provide firsthand information to the prospective Nepali students willing to pursue education in United Kingdom, the British Council is all set to organise ‘UK Education Exhibition’ in the Capital and Pokhara next week.
A total of 25 universities, including the renowned University of Nottingham and Leeds University, will have their representation in the exhibition that will be held on February 25-26 in Kathmandu and on February 28 in Pokhara. In addition, colleges offering British education in Nepal along with A- Levels institutions will have their stalls in the three day event. It is the first time the Council will organise the exhibition outside the valley. According to the organiser, the event will provide students an opportunity to have face-to-face discussions and interactions with alumni, other higher education aspirants, parents, career advisers and university representatives.
“The main objective of the event is to increase the understanding of British expertise in education,” said Brendan McSharry OBE British Council country director, adding that they want to create awareness among potential students of the affordibility of education in UK and the easily accessible visa if all required documents are in place. He also claimed that students and parents visiting the exhibition will be provided free counselling on careers, courses, education fees and visa procedures.
