Chinese envoy hands over books to KU
Kavre: Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yang Houlan handed-over around 1,200 books to Kathmandu University (KU) at a function on Wednesday.
Vice-Chancellor of KU Dr. Sureshraj Sharma received the books on behalf of the university.
On the occasion, mentioning thousands of years´ of cultural relationship between Nepal and China, Ambassador Houlan said the new generation should add new dimensions in the relationship that was strengthened by Manjushree, Araniko and Bhrikuti.
VC Sharma said that KU has been teaching about great philosopher of China, Confucius, by establishing an organization in his name for the first time in South Asia, and mentioned that this has played a crucial role to strengthen relationship of the two countries.
Registrar of KU Dr. Bhadraman Tuladhar and Dean of School of Arts Dr. Mahesh Banskota also expressed their views at the function.
The handed-over books are on various subjects such as Chinese language, culture, literature, philosophy, science and technology, education and health written in Chinese and English languages.
