DAV College of Management students organized Shankar Lal Kedia Memorial Futsal Cup 2017
BBA Fourth Semester Students of DAV College of Management paid a tribute to Late Shankar Lal Kedia with the successful organization of SHANKAR LAL KEDIA MEMORIAL FUTSAL CUP-2017 dated 13th – 15th of July, 2017. Total of 15 teams that included 10 boys and 5 girls teams from +2, BBA, BBS and MBA participated in the tournament. The event was held at DAV futsal Arena.
The event started with the opening ceremony where the Chairman of DAV Mr. Anil Kedia inaugurated the ceremony by cutting the ribbon. The opening ceremony included some dance performances from students followed by ball hand over by the Chairman to the referees.
The games were played as league cum knockout. The BBS 4th Year team won the 1st place in the boy’s game where BBS 1st year and DAV +2 managed 2nd and 3rd place respectively. The winners won the trophy along with Rs. 7000 cash prize whereas 1st runner up and 2nd runner up won Rs. 5000 and Rs.3000 respectively. Similarly, BBA 4th Semester won the 1st place in the girl’s game where BBA 2nd Semester and DAV +2 secured 2nd and 3rd place respectively. The cash prize for 1st, 2nd and 3rd was Rs.5000, Rs.3000 and Rs.2000 respectively. Mirak Limbu and Sarun Man Shrestha of BBS 1st year won the Best Player and Best Keeper award respectively. Similarly, Bhupen Manandhar of BBA 8th semester was awarded Best Scorer from the boy’s game. From the girl’s game, Puja Maharjan and Aayusha Maharjan of BBA 4th Semester was awarded Best Player and Best Keeper followed by Ashmita Shrestha of BBA 2nd Semester receiving Best Scorer. The awards were distributed by Chairman of DAV Mr. Anil Kedia and Chief Guest of the event Mr. Bikram Lama (Captain of Three Star Club).
Along with the Futsal Tournament, students of BBA 6th Semester organized the fund raiser through food stall with the motive of donation to old age home. The three days food stall accompanied varieties of food as well as beverages. This donation program is the annual event done by the BBA 6th semester as the part of CSR where students organize a fund raiser program to help people in need.
