Ecan education fair:88,000 visitors in three days
The four-day educational fair, organised by the Educational Consultancy Association of Nepal (ECAN) and presented by Kantipur daily, achieved a landmark with 88,000 visitors just in three days.
The 7th ECAN Educational Fair being held at the Bhrikutimandap Exhibition hall and managed by One Up Communication received around 40,000 footfalls on Saturday alone. It saw 18,000 and 30,000 visitors on Thursday and Friday respectively.
Like in the previous two days, the visitors—students and guardians—on Saturday inquired about the criteria required to study in the countries like Australia, India, Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and New Zealand, among other destinations.
According ECAN Vice-president Prakash Pandey, most of the students visiting the fair were interested in acquiring counselling and information about the courses, eligibility, scholarships, academic environment and job opportunities.
“The fair has become a bridge between the academic consultants from the various parts of the country and the students and parents of those who aspire to go abroad,” said Pandey. The event has proved to be a good platform for students to choose their academic destinations from a wide array of options.
Education consultancies, diplomatic missions and agencies, national and foreign colleges and universities are participating in the event that has has 181 stalls, including 21 pavilions.
According to Pandey, apart from information about the courses and scholarships provided by colleges and universities from the countries like United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, India, the fair visitors can also obtain information about preparatory classes, bridge courses and so on.
