Education journalism awards announced
Kathmandu: Prakriti Adhikari, education journalist of Gorakhapatra daily, has been honoured with the National Education Journalist Award. The award includes a purse of Rs 51,000 and a certificate.
The award was jointly initiated by the Federation of Nepali Journalists and the Department of Education.
The Regional Education Journalist Awards went to Ekraj Giri of Purbanchal Dainik, Kedar Siwakoti of Dolakha-based Kantipur TV, Mukesh Pokhrel of Mechikali Rastriya Dainik, Rudra Khadka of Nagarik Dainik and Kapil Bhatta of Educational Pages from eastern, central, western, mid-western and far western regions, respectively.
The regional award carries a purse of Rs 20,000 each. The regional award for the Valley went to Bhawanishwor Gautam of Naya Patrika. Likewise, the winners of Education Journalist Fellowship were also announced. Each winner will receive a purse of Rs 10,000.
Bhim Chapagain of Naya Patrika and Suresh Ghimire of Namaste FM from Eastern Region, Ram Prasad Neupane of Educational Pages and Manjima Dhakal of The Rising Nepal from Central Development Region, Krishna Acharya and Ghanashyam Gautam of Kantipur daily from Western Region won the fellowships.
Rudra Subedi of Madhya Pashchim daily and Gopal Prasad Bhattarai of Gorakshya Dainik from mid-west region and Pusparaj
Joshi of Nagarik Dainik and Padam Raj Joshi of Annapurna Daily
from far-west region have received the fellowship. From the Kathmandu Valley, Pradip Neupane and Sanjaya Panthi of Karobar Dainik have won the fellowship.
