Education Minister sees need of new education policy
Education Minister Dinanath Sharma has stressed the need of ending malpractices and misconducts in the education sector.
Taking part in a face-to-face programme here on Saturday, Minister Sharma underscored the urgency of making drastic changes in the country's education with the revision in the current education policy.
He said, "A new education policy was a must for addressing the problems in the education sector".
The government has invested a large budget in education sector; he said urging all the bodies concerned to be serious towards improving the quality of education.
Stressing the need of paying attention to the sound management of the education sector, the Education Minister said the job-oriented education has to be promoted to address the unemployment problem rife in the country.
Minister Sharma who is also the spokesperson of the ruling party UCPN-Maoist expressed his hope that new constitution would be promulgated within the slated time after political consensus on the contentious issues.
The peace process was near to a conclusion and the issues of demarcation of provinces would be finalised by the Constituent Assembly, he added.
Minister Sharma further called for all the political parties to budge from their stances and move ahead finding a new way so as to take the country on a right track.
