Educational institutions face closure for second day in a row
Around 7.5 million students of schools and colleges across the nation are affected due to private education shutdown enforced by the UCPN-Maoist-aligned All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) on Monday.
Although schools have been declared as zones of peace, strike enforced by Association for Private Educational Institutions Nepal (APEIN) on Sunday and counter strike enforced today by ANNISU-R today has affected millions of students.
The shutdown of the educational institutions is to protest against the strike that the education mafia had announced on Sunday, Himal Sharma‚ ANNISU-R president‚ said.
Issuing a press statement the Ministry of Education on Sunday had requested all not to enforce educational shutdown, and to guarantee the right to education.
Various parents associations have also condemned the educational strike.
