Fake SLC candidates to be fined Rs 1 lakh
District Education Office, Jhapa, has decided to fine proxy examinees in the School Leaving Certificate exam Rs 100,000.
The SLC examination is scheduled to begin from Thursday. The DEO informed about the fine at a press meet organised on the office premises today.
DEO Dilliram Luintel said, “ We have decided to fine up to Rs one lakh, or slap up to six months’ imprisonment, or both as per the gravity of the unfair practice used during the exam.” As many as 16,979 students from Jhapa district will sit for this year’s SLC exam. Of them, 13,497 are regular and 3,482 are exempted students. As many as 10,367 students are from public schools while others are from private schools. A total of 52 exam centres have been fixed for the SLC examination.
“ The answer sheets have been dispatched to all exam centres and adequate security has been put in place to guard the question papers,” DEO Luintel added.
