Doha: Fundraising has no boundaries. In his efforts to gather money to build a school building for Muslim children of Janakpur for, a Nepali Muslim teacher is in Qatar.

The foundation stone of a building of Jamiya Hajarat Siddhika Institute (JHSI) was laid four months ago, but construction hasn't started yet owing to budget crunch. Principal of JHSI Mohammad Alimuddin Nuri Raine on Sunday landed here for fundraising purpose. Some Nepali Muslim migrant workers will join in with him to collect money. 

"We are unable to construct a building. I have come here with the consent of local people to collect funds," he said. "We have been paying salary to teachers from local resource".

Around 0.4 hectare has been purchased to construct a building that will require an estimated Rs 45 million. The school has 165 students and runs classes up to Grade 10.

"We are planning to construct a building equipped with all facilities. However, lack of money has made it impossible," said Sabib Raine of Mahottari, who is working in Qatar. Nuri and his friend Mohammad Yaubul Ali reached the Qatar-based Nepali Embassy for the same cause. Ali has been working here for the past 16 years. They said funds will be collected from charity organisations, Qataris and Nepali migrant workers.

Nuri said the school has been renting a house, which has to be vacated now. He said new students couldn't be enrolled in this academic session due to lack of space. "We had received 1,000 applications for admission, but we could not accept them," he said.
