At a time when the private schools are demanding to hike tuition fee, one valley-based private school has set Rs 100 as its tuition fee, effective from this academic session, targeting low-income students.

Bouddha-based Samata College affiliated to Tribhuvan University has formally started its four-year management program and three-year program under humanities faculty.

"We have admitted 100 students – 50 in management and 50 in humanities faculty – since this is an initial phase of our program," said founder member Uttam Sanjel.

Samata College was inaugurated amid a function participated by comedian duo Madan Krishna Shrestha, Hari Bansha Acharya, Anuradha Koirala and Dr Upendra Mahato yesterday.
