Home Ministry proposes 15-day Dashain holiday
Home Ministry is tabling a proposal for providing 15-day holiday for the upcoming festival due to the ongoing fuel crisis in the country.
The proposal will be tabled during the cabinet meeting today. The ministry has proposed holiday from Ghatasthapana, the beginning of Dashain festival, to Kojagrat Purnima which marks the end of the festival.
Ministry spokesperson Laxmi Prasad Dhakal informed that the decision was taken in view of the ongoing fuel crisis in the country due to the Indian restriction on importing fuel. “We hope the extra holidays will ease the fuel crisis to some extent,” said Dhakal.
Government usually used to provide 10-day holiday, from Fulpati to Purnima, for the festival.
