The embassy underscores the importance of listing one's spouse and all unmarried children under 21 years of age at the time of application. Failure to include these details will result in the application being considered invalid.
Applicants are required to submit a recent photograph and are permitted only one application. The use of a photo from the previous year's DV application will lead to disqualification. The embassy emphasizes strict adherence to photo rules and cautions against wearing glasses in the photos.
Previously, applicants were required to have a passport while filling out the DV application, but this requirement has been lifted.
Applicants are advised to save or print the confirmation number provided after submitting their application. This number will be essential for checking the status of the DV application on May 4, 2024.
It is crucial to understand that being selected for DV does not guarantee obtaining a visa. Visa issuance depends on a consular officer's evaluation during the interview. The embassy provides a list of required documents for the interview, accessible at https://go.usa.gov/xRuzM.
Prospective applicants are encouraged to visit the official DV program website and review all guidelines and requirements carefully before proceeding with their applications.
