HSEB grants affiliations to 22 schools
The Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) has granted new affiliations to around two dozen schools to run classes of grade 11 and 12 this year. The Affiliation Committee led by Board Vice-chairman Chaitanya Sharma on Tuesday licensed 22 new higher secondary schools, including five in Kathmandu.
On Monday, the Board had scrapped permission of 72 higher secondary schools for not conducting regular classes. Of them, 29 were from the Valley alone. Sharma said the new affiliations were granted based on infrastructure and feasibility study. The decision needs to be endorsed by the Executive Board led by Education Minister Chitra Lekha Yadav.
