HSEB to scrap license of 71 higher secondary schools cross the nation

The Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) is to scrap the license of 71 higher secondary schools across the nation.

The HSEB is going to scrap license of those higher secondary schools for not running classes of higher secondary level for the past two years. Under-Secretary at the HSEB, Subas Pant, said that the decision regarding affiliation cancellation would be implemented from coming July 17.

The HSEB has also asked the concerned higher secondary schools not to admit students at grade 11. It has sought written clarification along with proof from the higher secondary schools within 15 days if there is any reason behind not to go ahead with the cancellation.

Pant further said that the license of the higher secondary schools would be scrapped automatically if they failed to submit the proof within 15 days.

License of 17 higher secondary schools is to be scrapped in Kathmandu alone, which is the highest number. Similarly, license of 10 higher secondary schools in Lalitpur, six in Morang, three in Jhapa, four each in Makawanpur and Chitwan, two each in Dhanusha, Bhaktapur, Nawalparasi and Tanahun is to be scrapped, according to the HSEB.
