Indian scholarships for 200 Nepali students
Minister for Education Chitralekha Yadav and Indian Ambassador Ranjit Rae distributed certificates of merit to 200 Nepali students under the 12th batch of Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme of the Government of India at a programme in the capital today.
On the occasion, Indian Ambassador Rae said the Embassy of India is committed to providing continued support extended by the concerned organisations in implementing its ambitious goals of making education available to a large number of Nepali students.
Minister Yadav, stating that the government has given high priority to education in the country, expressed her gratitude for continuous support of India in the education and other various sectors.
She also congratulated the awardees and asked them to contribute their knowledge for the development of the country.
After receiving the award, Nisha Sthapit, who is pursuing BE from the Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk Campus, thanked the Government of India for the scholarship scheme. “This scholarship has given a sense of responsibility and courage to do even better in future,” she said.
The Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme was launched in 2002 to commemorate 50 years of economic cooperation between India and Nepal.
