JSSK to print 11m SLC question papers
The Janak Siksha Samagri Kendra (JSSK) has set the target of printing SLC examination question papers by mid-February.
According to JSSK officials, more than 11 million question papers would be printed within one month as the JSSK is printing question papers from January 19.
“We will have to print 423,076 copies per day to meet the target,” said Brajesh Kumar Upadhyaya, deputy director of JSSK.
Similarly, the Office of the Controller of Examination (OCE) has to pay Rs 3 million to JSSK, the only government agency to print question papers and textbooks in the country.
Around 80 security personnel deployed from Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army have been deployed to provide security at JSSK press, he mentioned.
Though the government initially used to send the text to India for printing, JSSK has been printing the question papers on its own for the last three years.
Meanwhile, OCE, Sanothimi is forming a committee to estimate the actual number of students to appear in the exam this year. Similarly, the committee would work out a plan to hold the examination peacefully and fairly.
Last years´ SLC was considered the most disciplined in five years for which then exam controller Surya Prasad Gautam was given the best bureaucrat award by the government.
OCE has already made public the examination routine of SLC exams to be held on March 14. The eight day exam would be conducted from 8 to 11 in the morning.
Exam Controller Khaga Raj Baral said the question papers would be the same for regular and exempted students. Mathematics exam will be conducted on March 17, Science on 18 followed by Social Studies on 19th.
OCE has been selecting five sets of question papers for the students of five development regions since 2001. Similarly, two sets of question papers are printed for English and Mathematics for each development region to check unfair practices in the exam centers.
