Kantipur-ECAN edu fair starts tomorrow
A four-day educational fair, organised by the Education Consultancy Association of Nepal (ECAN) and presented by the Kantipur daily, begins on Thursday.
The sixth iteration of the largest international educational fair in the country to be held at the Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall will be managed by One Up Communication.
The fair will provide holistic information to students wanting to pursue their further studies at home and abroad. It focuses on career counselling and information about national and international educational institutions, targeted at students aspiring to study abroad and their parents. The event will act as an interactive forum for Nepali consultants, students, parents and international academic institutions, according to the organisers.
The expo will provide a good platform for students and their parents to get right and relevant information on the available academic degrees in and outside the country, making it easier for them to choose from a wide array of study destinations, according to the organisers.
“Through the fair we aim to inform prospective students on the application procedure, academic system, scholarship, culture and environment of the country they wish to go,” said Bishnu Hari Pandey, ECAN vice-chairman and the fair coordinator.
Education consultancies, diplomatic missions and agencies, national and foreign colleges and universities will be participating in the event. The fair will have 181 stalls, including 21 pavilions. The event, to be held from 11am to 6pm daily, aims to attract 150,000 students. According to ECAN President Rajendra Baral, students can learn about preparatory classes, bridge courses and scholarship schemes offered by colleges and universities from countries such as the US, the UK, Australia, Germany, India, Ireland, Switzerland and China.
