King's College partners with NAAMII for AI education in Nepal
King's College and Nepal Institute for Applied Mathematics and Informatics Institute for research announced their collaboration to conduct an educational programme on Artificial Intelligence in a press conference held here today.
The parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a resolute vision to become the paramount educational initia-tive in AI across Nepal with an aim to create cutting-edge AI education products. This collaboration between the two institutions will foster development of various specialised and integrated AI programmes in the future. Additionally, the first product of this partnership - a six-month long diploma level Advanced AI Programme - was also launched at the press conference.
The curriculum design is already under way. Likewise, the waitlist has also been released for interested participants while the programme is open to all. A basic foundational knowledge of Python Programming is required for enrolment. The programme target early career working professionals and recent graduates.
King's College and NAAMII have utilised their expertise to design and distribute high-quality educational programme to meet the distinct needs of individuals and institutions.
President of Kings College Narottam Aryal said, "As the world witnesses rapid advancement in the field of AI, Nepal too can make a mark in this domain.
Our goal with this AI educational programme is to share knowledge and expertise in AI, enabling individuals to tackle complex tasks with ease and to contribute to the economic sector. I believe this collaboration will provide us with valuable insights from AI experts who have been conducting teaching and research in prestigious laboratories and universities worldwide."
Co-founder and director of NAAMII Bishesh Khanal said, "The demand for manpower working in AI software is high in the global market. There is a lot of outsourcing in such work from Nepal. Nepali youths are also working as freelancers. In Nepal, many initiatives can be taken with the help of AI in agriculture and health."
