Korean assistance for IoE
The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) handed over the infrastructure developed for the environmental research demo project of the Pulchowk-based Institute of Engineering to the institute today.
KOICA volunteer Lee Ki Jung has been working with the IoE since 2010 for the implementation of the project. The project, meant to support Masters level students from the enivornment engineering stream in their thesis work, has two components — constructed wetland and composting bean.
At the handover ceremony held at the IoE today, KOICA Nepal representative Doh Young-Ah stressed that institute like IoE should be better equipped to give students practical education, which will increase learning opportunities and enhance their knowledge.
She remarked that this support will upgrade the teaching methodology in environmental engineering, expressing hope that the project will be well taken care of and utilised efficiently in coming days.
