Last day of 9th Higher Education and Career Fair
The four day long Republica Higher Education and Career Fair, organized by Direction Nepal concludes on June 26.
The fair was organized to provide information about emerging career options in various fields and also to provide a platform to offer the best courses and institutes.
For this year’s fair, Direction Nepal brought in various national and also international educational institutes together for a more effective and a more productive interaction. In total there are a total of 123 stalls put up by 80 different organizations.
Talking about how the fair has been picking up and doing, Prabin Bista, Event Executive of Direction Nepal said, “We could see a huge flow of students at the fair. The exhibitors are also very happy to see many interested students at the event this year.”
Islington College, who did major branding for the event has been participating at the fair since 2002. Sulav Budhathoki, CEO of Islington College said that compared to last year, the fair has been really successful. He informed that Islington College is the only college in Nepal that has direct affiliation to the London Metropolian University in UK.
“Since this year, we have designed new programs, new concepts and affiliations and we participated at the fair with the intention to make the public aware of the same,” he added.
He further said that the fair has been helpful for students to learn about all courses that are being offered, the different institutes offering those courses and also to know about career prospects all at the same platform.
“The participants were able to save time as well, since they got to know about many programs which otherwise would have been difficult in the absence of such educational exhibitions.”
Rabin Shrestha, Chief Operations Director of Institute of Banking and Management Studies (IBM) informed that on the third day of the exhibition, the number of parents participating at the fair had increased.
Also, the students who participated have benefited a lot since they could easily interact and learn about various institutions all from one location.
Event Coordinator of Direction Nepal, Suman Maharjan said that during the three days there has been maximum flow of students to the fair.
The majority of participating students are the fresh SLC graduates but there are also those that have just completed their plus two and undergraduates as well. “There are also parents visiting the fair to know about the various emerging educational institutes,” he added.
