Man crawls 10 km daily for education
Rukum:Crawling back and forth between home and school on all fours is the daily routine of Bhim Bahadur Pun of Rukum district, proving that physical disability is not a deterrent to his quest for education.
Despite malfunctioning of both his legs, the 22-year-old youth of Pipal VDC-7 is determined to be educated. His legs failed him seven years ago due to an unidentified disease. Despite disability, he made up his mind to pursue his education.
The fifth grader crawls around 10 km daily to reach his school situated at Bhainsemela and come back home. He creeps along a steep descent while going to school every morning and climbs up all the way home after classes. He is like an able teen with a sharp brain and is a keen as well as quick observer, said principal Dhan Kumari Dahal.
