Medical colleges asked to maintain fee structure
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority has taken an initiative to bring about uniformity in fees charged by medical colleges from the next academic session.
The anti-graft body’s move came after complaints that medical colleges were charging students fees haphazardly.
According to a press statement issued by the CIAA, the government and the concerned agencies have agreed to implement a uniform fee structure during a meeting of secretaries of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Population and office-bearers of universities and Nepal Medical Council today.
Four-point terms and conditions have also been prepared to regulate the medical colleges.
According to the statement, medical colleges will determine the maximum ceiling of fees in coordination with the concerned universities and it will come into effect from the next academic session.
The medical colleges have been asked to fix the minimum number of seats available.
