Ministry to monitor education consultancies
The Ministry of Education is set to monitor implementation of the Education Consultancies and Language Teaching Directive, 2068 BS.
In the first phase, the education consultancy institutes registered in the Ministry would be monitored, said Joint Secretary of the Ministry Dilli Ram Rimal.So far, 480 educational consultancy institutes have been registered in the Ministry.
At a programme organised here today by Nepal Educational Consultancy Association and Education Journalists Network , he said strong policy would be put in place while monitoring in the first phase.
The Directive was issued in 2068 BS with a view to making educational consultancy institutes more managed, decent and transparent. The policy document has also included the instructions that the institutes should adhere.
There is no any comprehensive statistics about such institutes in operation, the countries they send students to and the number of students at their service. According to the Education Ministry, students obtaining 'no-objection letter' during current fiscal year has already reached around 23,000.
