NCED, British Council to conduct primary level teachers' training
BHAKTAPUR: The National Centre for Education Development and the British Council are going to conduct teachers’ training on teaching different subjects through English as the medium of instruction.
Organising a press meet in Bhaktapur today, Khagraj Baral, Executive Director, NCED, said in the first phase the training will be conducted for as many as 7,000 primary level teachers. “Community school teachers have long been demanding such kind of training. So we have partnered with the British Council to conduct teachers training for them,” he said.
NCED and the British Council had signed an MoU for three years in November 2014 with the objective to improve classroom performance of teachers of English and other subjects from schools wanting to change their medium of instruction into English.
Brendan McSharry, Country Director, British Council Nepal, said, “The project (National Initiative to Improve Teaching in English) will strengthen the provision of primary education in Nepal.”
