No studies due to crumbled buildings
Sankhuwasabha: Not only the studies, but the quarterly examinations too have been affected after school buildings in Sankhuwasabha district were collapsed from the devastating earthquake on September 18.
Studies are hampered fully in Singha Devi Secondary School in Nundhaki-1 Tatopani from the earthquake.
Headmaster Gyan Bahadur Raut said, “We finished the examination anyhow by erecting tents, but how to teach them now as all the rooms are crumbled beyond use”.
One teacher said it will not be possible to teach them on the open grounds always. “It rains and sometimes there are hailstorms too, and winter is just round the corner. It seems we have to close down studies for an indefinite period if construction of building is not given attention in time”, he said.
Teacher of Gufapokhari Primary School, Hima Khanal said this is because of negligence and commission game while construction of the building, and the students have to bear the brunt.
District Education Officer Purna Bahadur Darji said schools faced damages as low standard goods were used in construction. “The government has been informed and budget will come soon”, he said. Some 17 schools of the district have been fully crumbled affecting ten thousand students.
