Outstanding students‚Best Performing schools awarded
President Ram Baran Yadav and interim election government Chairman Khil Raj Regmi today conferred awards on students and schools for their outstanding performance in the last fiscal.
Addressing the award ceremony that the Ministry of Education had organised at Shital Niwas on the occasion of National Education Day, President Yadav underlined the need to enhance the effectiveness of our educational institutions.
“There is a need for participation, commitment and collaboration among stakeholders to develop educational institutions as purely academic places and to expand access to education,” he added.
Yadav awarded 248 individuals with Nepal Bidhyabhusan honours and certificates for completing their PhDs from various universities in and outside the country.
He also honoured students securing highest scores in different academic levels. Yadav felicitated some 152 PhD graduates with Nepal Bidhyabhusan ‘A’ and certificate. ‘B’ grade honour was conferred on some 58 Masters’ degree students obtaining highest scores .
President Yadav feted 20 students with ‘C’ grade honour for securing top scores in Bachelors’ degrees.
Thirteen girl students were honoured with ‘Nepal Girl Students Bidhya Award’ for obtaining highest marks in Bachelor-level examinations. ‘Nepal Girl Student Bidhya Award’ was provided to six students who secured highest scores at the intermediate level.
At a ceremony in Nepal Academy, Chairman of interim election government Khil Raj Regmi awarded different schools. Myagdi-based Beni Community Secondary School and Lalitpur-based GEMS School were honoured as best community and institutional schools, respectively. They received Rs 200,000, shields, flags and certificates each. Ratna Secondary School from Bagatipata, Bajhang received Rs 1,00,000, shield, flags and certificates.
