Over 5 lakh students to sit for this year's SLC exams
BHAKTAPUR: A total of 572,207 students are registered to appear in this year's School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examinations slated to begin from March 19.
According to the Office of the Controller of Examinations, Sanothimi, 427,082 of the candidates are regular students and the remaining 145,125 are exempted.
The lowest number of students from Manang district and the highest from Kathmandu will be sitting for the examinations. Only 74 examinees have been registered from Manang district, while there are 34,421 examinees from Kathmandu.
Similarly, a total of 1,35,305 students will appear in this year's examinations from the eastern region, 1,78,660 from the central region, 1,01,761 from the western region, 86,748 from the mid-western region and 69,688 from the far-western region, according to the exam controller’s office.
The office said that printing of the question papers for the SLC examinations has been expedited by the Janak Education Materials Centre Ltd.
Exam controller Bishnu Bahadur Dware said that this year's SLC examinations will start from March 19 and conclude on March 27.
