Over 560k to take SLC examination
A total of 566,085 students will be sitting the School Level Certificate examination that begins on March 20. The number higher by 54,920 compared to last year.
According to the Office of Controller of Examination (OCE), 419,352 students will take their examination under the regular category, while the number of exempted students is 146,733.
The OCE has allocated 1,836 exam centres for the 80th iteration of the SLC examination, with 87 centres in Kathmandu alone.
Ganesh Dhakal, the deputy examination controller, said 53,076 staff will be mobilised to conduct the examination successfully. A total of 1,836 exam superintendents, 22,593 invigilators, 7,530 helpers and 18,360 police personnel will be mobilised for the purpose.
The OCE has already dispatched around five million question papers of 52 subjects to 72 districts except in Kathmandu Valley.
Students will attend the English exam on the first day followed by Nepali, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Environment Studies, Health and Population. Tests of first and second optional papers will be held on March 26, 27 and 28
