Plight of students
Rautahat: Students of Shree Primary School at Harshaha Tole in Sakhuawa Dhamaura VDC-7 are compelled to take classes in a garden near their school owing to the lack of classrooms.
Established four years ago, the school, which runs classes up to Grade 4, has a two-room building, but one of the rooms houses the school office while the other is being used for storing hay.
According to Krishna Nandan Patel, a teacher at the school, the school has been running classes outside since May after it shifted to this new location.
Though around 150 students have been admitted to the school, only 30 to 40 attend classes regularly, informed Patel.
“As we do not have classrooms in the rainy season, we have no option but to close the school,” he lamented.
According to Principal Rama Shankar Patel, he had informed about the plight of the school to the VDC and the concerned office, but as the requests have not been addressed, students have to bear the brunt.
