Policewoman thrashes SLC examinee for carrying keys
RAJBIRAJ: Nilu Jha, a student appearing in School Leaving Certificate, was allegedly assaulted by a policewoman after she found her in possession of guess papers. The policewoman found Jha with keys in her bag while frisking her before the start of the exam at Diman Higher Secondary School in Saptari.
The student alleged that the policewoman slapped her four times on finding two guess papers in her bag. “The policewoman held me by my hair and slapped me,” said Jha.
Other students and their parents staged a protest against the policewoman’s behaviour. Chanting slogans against the policewoman, they demanded action against her, who is currently posted at Rajbiraj-based Sagarmatha Zonal Police Office. The exam started 10 minutes late than the scheduled time following the incident. The situation could be brought under control only after a team of police led by Inspector Nanda Lal Sah arrived at the scene.
Jha said she lost consciousness after she was beaten up and that she could not do well in the exam due to stress.
