Politics in school
Surkhet: Two management committees have been functional in Surkhet, Rakam-based Bageswori higher secondary school for the past one year due to disagreement in sharing of post and authority, based on political inclination.
The dispute came to fore when guardians close to the Nepali Congress (NC) presented Rajendra Kumar Singh as the Chairperson of school management committee immediately after the Maoists and CPN-UML supporters declared Pustak Badi the Chair a year ago.
The District Education Office has stopped providing assistance to the school for the past one year after the occurrence of dispute for school management committee chair.
'We called gathering of guardians several times to give way out to the problem', said former chairperson of the school management committee, Khadka Pokharel, adding, 'It has yet to be settled since no party has budged from their claim for chairperson'.
The school has received no assistance from any sides following the row and rather it has witnessed chaos everywhere, he expressed concern, 'Teaching-learning has been adversely affected; there is no physical reform in the school. Politics proved to be much expensive for the school'.
