Poverty hits Arghakhachi school kids
Agghakhachi: At school time, the children of Chutrabeshi in the district head to the nearby river with their guardians, instead of going to school.
Though the government and different organisations claim to be working in the education sector and organising seminars in star hotels in the name of children, the kids of this far-flung place show these efforts don’t mean much.
The kids’ regular duty is to go to the local Bagi River and spend their days breaking boulders and collecting sand for managing essentials for their families.
The parents lament that they are not in a condition to send their children to school due to poverty.
They said they would send their wards to school if the government or any other organisation offered financial help.
The children here either should learn to break boulders at the river or work as helpers on tractors and jeeps.
The innocent children are unaware of their rights. They want to go to school but they don’t have the chance.
District Education Officer Mitramani Khanal, claimed that they are working to bring the underprivileged to school.
