PU postpones nursing exams
BIRATNAGAR: Purbanchal University has postponed examinations of BSC Nursing first year, Post Bachelor of Nursing (PBN) first year and Bachelor of Public Health second year. They were scheduled to be held on April 16 and 17, respectively.
Issuing a notice, Office of Examination (PU) said, “It is risky to conduct examinations when the varsity’s office bearers are suspended on the charge of corruption.”
Last week, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority had suspended all office bearers at PU on the charge of corruption.
Postponement of exams at the eleventh hour has left more than 500 students in the lurch. “We cannot conduct exams until a new panel takes charge,” exam co-controller Bodhhari Acharya said. On CIAA’s recommendation, Vice-chancellor Mahesworman Shrestha, Registrar Niroj Pandey, Account Chief Laxman Gelal, Exam Controller Mohan Basnet, Dean Shambhu Koirala and Assistant Dean Rajesh Jha were suspended.
