PU students blame 'negligent' officials for exam failure
Kathmandu:Hundreds of Bachelor’s of Nursing students under Purbanchal University (PU) have been victims of negligence on the part of university officials, students alleged.
Students claim that due to negligence, around 80 per cent students of BN first year have failed the examination.Puja Mainali, a student, said many of their friends who passed the intermediate level with flying colours have also been failed.
“Most of the students have failed in two subjects — Applied A and Applied B — and marks of the failed students are almost similar,” she said.
“It means that the university officials were careless in checking answer sheets.” She demands that the university allow them to see their answer sheets.
Krishna Bhusal from B and B College administration said around 60 per cent students have failed in the BN first year exam that was held in November, 2011. The result was published on January 15 this year.
He further said the students who had attempted only 50 per cent questions have obtained more than 50 marks while those who had attempted all the questions have failed.
PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Maheshwor Man Shrestha said they have formed a three-member committee to probe into the case.
