Public universitiea' convention set to begin
Nepal Public University Association (NPUA) is all set to hold its three-day long 9th national convention from November 7 to 9 in Kathmandu.
Shiva Raj Sanjel, central committee member of NPUA, said they have already completed the necessary preparation for the upcoming convention.
The establishment of the first Nepal Public University (NPU) will be discussed in the convention, he said adding that NPU was yet to be launched even after getting the government’s nod due to lack of act and regulation. The government has been giving priority to some universities even if they are lacking in physical infrastructure, however, we are facing problems despite having enough property and infrastructure to build the university,” he said.
The convention will be inaugurated by Sher Bahadur Deuba, senior leader of the Nepali Congress, on the first day followed by a rally in Kathmandu.
Likewise, Prime Minister Babu Ram Bhattarai will address the convention on the second day, followed by a election on the third day, he further said.
