Republica Higher Education & Career Fair
June 21: A press conference to announce the Republica 9th Higher Education and Career Fair 2011 was organized at the Direction and Exhibition Convention Center (DECC) at Tripureshwor on June 20.
The four-day mega carnival is all set to begin from June 23. The career fair, which is in its ninth edition this year, will have international and local colleges along with various training institutes participating.
A total of 123 stalls are to be put up at the venue by 80 different organizations.Speaking at the event, Trilokeshwor Malla, director of Direction Nepal, said, “We aim at providing positive counseling to students.”
At the fair, participating colleges and institutes will have special counselors who will guide prospective students on subjects and career choices.
Suman Maharjan, coordinator of the event, said that the organizers have taken special care to make the event a student-friendly and secure happening.
“We have help desks, volunteers and security personnel at the event all throughout,” he claimed.
The fair, which had a total of 65,000 visitors last year, is expected to draw 70,000 visitors this time around.
Apart from the regular stalls, the Career Fair will have a special gaming zone, attractive door prizes consisting of laptops and mobile phones, and other interesting gift vouchers.
The tickets are priced at Rs 25 each and the timings are 11am to 6pm for all the four days of the event.
