Rural libraries established in Rajbiraj
Rajbiraj: The Radhakant Mallik Memorial Academy has established two libraries at rural Bathanaha and Sambhunath VDCs of Saptari district focusing on the students reeling under problem due to lack of of textbooks.
The Academy set up the libraries with the assistance of Be Educated Movement as to prevent growing trend of school drop-out caused by the shortage of references and textbooks.
The ‘Be Educated Movement’ provided with 360 textbooks of different subjects including Mathematics, Science, English and Social to the library in the beginning, informed Ganjendra Prasad Yana, coordinator of the library situated at Bathanaha-9, Dhikali.
General Secretary of the Academy, Satish Kumar Dutta said the libraries were established with the purpose of enhancing access of rural area children to extra-curricular reference during their study hour.
Former Chairman of Bathanaha VDC Baidhyanath Yadav expressed the belief that the libraries will help arouse interest of students towards elevating knowledge and awareness level of the students.
Library will be established at the rural areas and students will also be awarded and upgraded after properly conducting exam, said Programme Coordinator of the Movement Deep Kumar Gaud.
Anil Kumar Gupta of Sambhunath VDC said all villagers, teachers and guardians should collectively move ahead to make wide publicity of the library as an epitome in this sector.
