Scholarship to 99 Dalit girl students
MAHOTTARI: As many as 99 Dalit girls have been provided with scholarship.
The Nepal National Dalit Social Welfare Organisation distributed scholarship to 89 girls below class 10 and 10 perusing higher education. The organisation provided scholarship of minimum Rs 300 upto Rs 2000 to each student.
At a programme, General Secretary of the organisation, Trilok Chandra Biswas, urged the parents not to misuse the scholarship amount distributed to the Dalit girl students. District Education Officer, Ranadeep Basnet, was the chief guest at the programme.
District Chairman of the organisation, Bikram Paswan, said that they selected girls of the different secondary schools at Parsa Patali, Matihani, Mahottari, Pipara and Bardibas VDCs, among others as literacy of the district is very low.
The organisation has been distributing scholarship to girl students quarterly.
