School padlocked for past five months
Saptari: Damawati National Primary School in Bipahariya VDC of Saptari has remained closed for the past five months due to rift between School Management Committee and principal.
The students are deprived of their right to education when no initiative was taken to remove the lock slapped by the office-bearers of school management committee since the month of Baisakh.
The school management committee side has accused principal Saraswoti Yadav of misappropriating Rs. 500,000 and appointing teachers on own will without consulting the committee.
Over 300 students are pursuing education in the school.
It is very unfortunate that none has made attempts to resume the educational activities in the ever-first school of the district, which has been locked out for the past five months, said local guardians.
Meanwhile, human rights watch committee has urged the sides concerned to ensure smooth operation of school paying respect to the children’s right to education.
