School shuts for six months
Mugu: Mugu VDC-based Janajagriti Primary School shall remain shut for six months during winter as the people here migrate to lowlands during the season, said school principal.
Principal Hasta Bahadur Karki went on to say that since parents take their children to upperlands in May to collect Yarshagumba studies also remain affected during the month. “It has been difficult for us to run the school,” he added.
Around 120 households of the VDC including Pipledi, Siranichaur and Gamgadi of the district migrate starting from November due to biting cold in the higher lands.
School sources said that due to the seasonal migration, teaching-learning activities of the school remain completely shut till May.
Acting DEO Surya Bahadur Khatri said they will look for the alternative to run school during those six months of winter season.
