Second Kantipur Hissan Edu-Fair begins today
The stage is set for the second education fair jointly organised by the Kantipur Media Group and Higher Secondary Schools Association Nepal (Hissan).
The ‘Kantipur Hissan Edu-Fair 2014’, to be held at Exhibition Hall in Bhrikutimandap will be inaugurated by Minister for Education Chitra Lekha Yadav amid a function at 11 am on Thursday. Around 90 reputed academic institutions from the country will have their stalls in the event that is targeted at promoting domestic institutions from the country. The organisers claim that it is the only educational fair in the country that does not allow foreign academic institutions and their agents to participate. The fair held with a theme of “Excellent Education in Nepal” is focused at making people feel that the domestic academic institutions are cable of providing quality education and there is no need to invest millions in foreign academic institution at least for the pre-university education.
Over 200,000 visitors are expected to attend the four-day event. The exhibition, according to the organisers, will provide students with an opportunity to compare the different academic institutions and choose the one that best suits them. The event will provide wide range of course for the students to choose from along with an opportunity to have direct interaction with the representatives of the academic institutions from the country.
According to organisers the daily exhibition will be followed by various sessions and seminars on the education system and different courses and their scopes. The organisers have announced to provide gift hampers on a daily basis and over 50 scholarships to those selected from lucky draw. Golden Gate College, Morgan College, Global College of Management, Capital College and Research Centre and Princeton College are the main sponsors of the event.
