Seminar on issues faced by Purbanchal University
A daylong seminar to address the various issues and challenges that Purbanchal University (PU) is facing was conducted on June 9.
Organized by D.A.V. Business School, the seminar saw many PU officials like the Dean of Management Department, Dr Shyam Bahadur Katuwal, the Dean of Humanities and Education Department Dr Shambhu Koirala, the Assistant Exam Controller of the Examination Control Section, Mohan Basnet and Former Registrar Sanjay Koirala.
The seminar was divided into four sessions with the first session being chaired by the industrialist and principal of D.A.V. Business School, Anil Kadia.
As the chief guest of the first session, the Dean of Management Department, Dr Shyam Bahadur Katuwal, stated that the present officials are working to lessen the weaknesses of the university.
Another speaker, the Dean of Humanities and Education Department, Dr Shambhu Koirala said that the university is heading towards the direction of improvement.
While chairing the first session, Anil Kadia also pointed out that challenge of education is to make it practical. He enforced that it is important to make students competent enough for today’s business firms.
Manifestos by Profressor Dr. Man Prasad Wagle and Profressor Dr. Shreeram Lamichhane were presented and each stressed on the immediate improvement needed to be done by P U.
Those present stressed that it would be a milestone if PU could identify and improve its problems through the medium of the seminar.
Towards the end of the seminar, a discussion was also conducted on the strategies that could be used to transform the affiliated colleges of PU into good competitive colleges. The seminar ended with a hope that the examination system of the university would also be improved.
