SLC chance exams begin
School Leaving Certificate (SLC) supplementary exams began from on Wednesday, across the country.
According to the Office of the Controller of the Examination (OCE), any SLC examinee who had failed in maximum two subjects can attend the chance exam.
Bishnu Bahadur Dware, examination controller, OCE, said that exam on Wednesday was conducted in a very peaceful manner across the country. He said a total of 124,151 students had filled the form for supplementary exams, while a total of 28,048 students sat for the English paper on Wednesday.
He informed that a total of 55,474 students had failed in one subject while 68,777 had failed in two subjects in the SLC exam 2014, which was held in March. He further said that maximum number of students (70,108) had failed in Mathematics, followed by Science (56,165) and Social Studies (21,726).
According to Dware, the exams were held in district headquarters in 247 exam centres across the country and the result would be announced within a month.
