SLC exams across nation held peacefully: OCE
The Office of the Controller of the Examination (OCE), Sanothimi, said on Tuesday that first day examination of School Leaving Certificate (SLC) were held peacefully despite a few untoward incidents outside the capital valley.
Ambika Regmi, Deputy Controller of the OCE said that the first day of examinations were conducted peacefully because of the support of all stakeholders.
In Kathmandu, six students of Baba Education Academy were barred from attending the examinations as they did not have admission cards.
According to District Education Officer, Kathmandu, Baikuntha Aryal, the institution was not registered at the DEO. The Kathmandu DEO said that it has no knowledge about this school.
Aryal said that Tuesday’s examinations were held in dignified manner across the district.
A total of 528, 257 examinees are appearing in this year’s SLC exams from 1748 exams centers across the nation. About 56,000 persons will be mobilized to conduct the examinations.
Out of total students, 445,974 are attending the examinations as regular students while 82,283 students are sitting the examinations under the exempted category.
On Wednesday, students are sitting for exams of the subject Nepali.
Meanwhile in east Nepal’s invigilators are reported to have assisted students to cheat in Tuesday’s SLC exams of English.
The irregularity has been reported despite claims of DEOs to conduct exams in dignified manner. Really good students are affected by such a trend.
Examination Coordination Committee has shifted exam centre from Balmandir Lower Secondary School to Sunsari Multiple campus due to lack of adequate physical infrastructure.
Two examinees appearing for SLC examinations have delivered babies in the exam center in Rukum district.
Examinee Kabita BK delivered a child at Nayagadh center in Kwang VDC. She was given extra one hour to solve the question paper after she gave birth to a baby girl.. Similarly, Rekha Gharti of Takchyara, Rukum also delivered a baby boy in the exam hall.
Likewise in Dhangadhi, Janaki Timilsina appeared in the SLC exams four hours after giving birth to a child.
In Biratnagar, two invigilators Raj Narayan Chaudhari and Baija Nath Khabas of Pasupati Boarding School examination centers were expelled for supporting students to copy answers.
Likewise, Umesh Rajbamsi was expelled for going against of examination norms. Saroj Kumar Yadav of the Kupahi Secondary School could not attend in examinations as his school did not give him an admission card.
In Nepalgunj, police arrested fake student Pradip Buda sitting for the SLC exams under the name of Bharat Bahadur Karki.
Meanwhile, inmates Raju Awasti and Thir Bahadur Rawal from Dhangadi and Ram Kumar Thapa from Sindhulimadhi sat for SLC examinations.
A son in mourning Rup Bahadur Thapa Magar attended the SLC examination from Sindhuli.
In Kaski district, seven visually impaired and 17 with hearing difficulty appeared in the examination. Likewise in Dhangadhi, seven visually impaired and four physically challenged students appeared in the SLC exams.
