SLC results to be delayed
Bhaktapur: The results for this year’s School Leaving Certificate exams will be delayed by a few weeks due to frequent strikes across the country, said the Office of the Controller of Examinations today.
Officials were unable to submit answer sheets to their appointed centres and those answer sheets that have already been marked were stranded in the centres, said deputy controller Ambika Prasad Regmi.
“Earlier, we used to make the results public by mid June. But this year, we will only be able to do so in the first week of July,” said Regmi.
He stated that 54 answer sheet collection centres were set up in different parts of the country.
“Around 15 such centres in the eastern, central and western region have already completed their assigned tasks and submitted the papers to us. But the centres in the mid-western and western regions were affected due to frequent strikes,” he added.
The Office of the Controller of Examinations said 528,257 students, including 82,283 in exempted category, sat for this year’s SLC exams in 1,748 examination centres across the country.
